Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, PhD, FGA,
Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, a 2009 African Humanities Program postdoctoral fellow and the chair of the Steering Committee of the African Humanities Associationa, has been appointed vice-chancellor at the University of Ghana, effective October 26, 2021. She is the first woman to serve in this position.
Amfo is a professor of linguistics at the University of Ghana and, prior to her new role, was the pro-vice-chancellor responsible for students and academic affairs. She received her PhD in linguistics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
